Mandala 4
Flower of Life Mandala
The center of this mandala is call the flower of life. It depicts how all life comes from one singular source — represented by the circle in the middle of the pattern. There is believed to be a secret symbol hidden within the Flower of Life symbol, which is said to hold the most significant and sacred patterns of the universe.
My mandala creations are hand drawn. I use primarily black ink, alcohol markers, colored pencils and graphite. My inspiration comes from thinking about how I feel when I create them. I want to connect with that “space” again so I start another one. Creativity has always been a part of my life. We are all connected. Connection and connectivity are themes present throughout most of my visual art. Although I do not consciously focus on this when I’m creating a new piece, it becomes clear after looking at the finished piece that it has manifested. I think connection is at the heart of creation.
